Union Minister of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare, Narendra Singh Tomar on 16 August 2021 inaugurated the Second Largest Advanced National Gene Bank at the ICAR-National Bureau of Plant Genetic Resources, Pusa, Delhi.The minister praised Indian farmers for quickly dealing with various challenges in the agricultural sector. Underlining Prime Minister, Narendra Modi’s vision to benefit the farming community, Tomar asserted Centre’s commitment to frame different farmers’ friendly policies and schemes in the direction.He regarded the National Gene Bank as an advanced step in the direction. Stressing on the need of Biofortified Crops, the minister underlined Central Government’s initiatives taken in collaboration with the farmers to efficiently deal with the problems being faced.
