RESIN- WHERE ART MEETS CHEMISTRY

0

Resin mainly refers to a category of semi liquid natural and synthetic compounds that can be hardened in to a highly durable plastic material. It made from organic compounds that are held together with a chemical bond.

Resin is secondary metabolites organic compounds that are produced by Bacteria, fungi and plants. These molecules don’t control growth, development and reproduction directly. These molecules mainly exists as toxins, secondary products or natural products. It is solid or semi solid amorphous fusible flammable natural organic substances that are usually transparent or translucent and yellowish to brown are formed especially in plant secretion are soluble in organic solvent but not in water are electrical non-conductors and are used chiefly in vanishes, printing inks, plastics and medicines.

TYPES OF RESIN

According to the nature of synthesis, Resin divides in to two forms :-

  1. Natural Resin
  2. Synthetic Resin

NATURAL RESIN:

Obtained from nature . Mostly this type Resin originated from plants, therefore it also called as PLANT RESIN. It can be isolated by whole plant or extracted by plants because of incision. In some rare case Resin obtained from animals.

  • Plants from which Resin obtain mainly

Ginger,Capsicum, Podophyllum,Asafoetida, Benzoin

  • Animals from which Resin obtain

   Shellac or lack and fossils.

SYNTHETIC RESIN :

This type Resin produced in industry.  It produced by curing of rigid polymer .When they undergo a curing process, they contain reactive and groups like epoxides or acrylates.

 A- THERMOPLASTIC RESINS

 B- EPOXY RESINS

 C- CASTING RESINS

nano urea

 D- IRON EXCHANGE RESINS

 E- ACETAL RESINS

 F- ACRYLIC GLASS

PROPERTIES OF RESINS :

Transparent or translucent solid or semi solid .

  • Specific gravity of RESINS is more then water . Therefore These are heavier than water.
  • Generally become soft at heating . On further heating resin melted.
  • Resins generally occurs in amorphous state and insoluble in water.
  • Soluble in organic compounds like alcohol, volatile oils and choral hydrate.
  • These compounds are highly enriched with carbon.
  • Resins are deprived of nitrogen and oxygen.
  • Resins undergo slow oxidation process in atmosphere and become dark in colour.

CONCLUSION :

Over all if we will see then Resin can be a best income source for both students and home makers too. With Resin we can preserve memories with that also can make any shape size materials. There are different sources of training on Resins are available in diff-social media platforms. With help of that anyone can make easy way for there income sources.

If anybody wants to start business they can buy raw materials and can make beautiful memories by using resins.
