Booklet on Transforming Fallow Lands

The Transforming fallow lands involves bringing land that is currently uncultivated back into agricultural production. This can be achieved through various methods, including improving soil fertility, enhancing irrigation, and introducing suitable crops. In India, for instance, significant areas of land are fallow, particularly after the rice harvest. Fallowing can help replenish soil nutrients, but applying appropriate fertilizers can accelerate the process and make the land immediately cultivable.

Hon Deputy Chief Minister presenting a copy of the Booklet on Odisha’s Comprehensive Rice Fallow Management initiative to Hon Union Agriculture Minister, Shri Shivraj Singh Chauhan at National Conference on Agriculture, Kharif Campaign 2025 in New Delhi. He called for increased crop production, reduced farming costs, and fair returns for farmers, adding that the integration of modern science with traditional agricultural wisdom would empower farmers, uplift villages, and strengthen the nation.
