A significant milestone for Odisha’s agricultural exports was achieved as the Collector of Dhenkanal flagged off the state’s first-ever consignment of fresh strawberries to London. Facilitated by Saptasajya Agro Producer Company Limited under the PSFPO project, this high-value horticulture initiative has enhanced farmers’ incomes, ensuring nearly 50% higher price realization.
This move aligns with the state’s goal to strengthen Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) and expand global market reach for local, high-value horticultural produce. The initiative is part of a larger, successful push to export Odisha’s agricultural products (including green papaya and colacasia) to international markets, resulting in 40%–62% higher returns for farmers.
