The Odisha government promotes finger millet (ragi) and little millet farming through the Shree Anna Abhiyan. It successfully created a proof of concept for farmers to grow millets. When women become self – reliant, they become examples not just for their families but for society as well. One such inspiring women is Tula Dalei from Rampur Village in the Chitrakonda block of Malkanagiri district.
She have achieved self – reliance and self – sufficiency by cultivating finger millet and little Millet. Through the Shree Anna Abhiyan, she has been encouraged to use Modern techniques in millet cultivation and is earning substantially. Tula supports her family, including her paralysed husband’s healthcare and her children’s upbringing, through her efforts.
