According to the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the first shipment of geographically identified wheat that is certified Bhalia wheat was exported today to Kenya and Srilanka from Gujarat.
This certified wheat has various qualities like 1- It has high protein 2- It is sweet in taste. It is mainly found in the Bhal region of Gujarat. This initiative is excepted to give boost to wheat exports from India. In the year 2020-21 the wheat which was exported from India witnessed a significant growth of 808 % to rupees 4034 crores from 444 crores.
Hope this new wheat variety will have a significant impact on the agricultural sector and commodities.
