The GM crops are now continuously developed for increasing the demand of agriculture production .Similarly the release of GM Mustard which is requested by the Govt of India has rejected by the SC. Moreover the Sc stated that it needs to be properly examined as the environment and ecology to be maintained properly.
The bench led by Justice BV Nagarathna refused to discharge the Govt from its earlier assurance . Environmental harm cannot be reversed later ,said by justice Nagarathna. “One year here or there doesnot matter. Next year there will be another season.”, the bench said. The further hearing will be on September 26.
