Odisha has decided to begin coffee cultivation on one lakh acres of land in the next 10 years buoyed by the demand for its coffee brand in the national and international markets. The Odisha government has also decided to engage women’s self-help groups (SHGs) in raising coffee nurseries.
As a hybrid organization, NUCAFE runs a business entity for its own sustainability, and then it runs impact-oriented programs. Therefore the two business and impact entities are NUCAFE Grading Limited (NGL) and NUCAFE respectively. The International Trade Centre calculates that “the 10 biggest roasters control more than 35% of all coffee sales”.
