The head of German chemicals giant Bayer’s South Asia operations said, ‘India cannot become a developed nation by 2047 with ‘backward agriculture’. They’re looking at a labour shortage in agriculture in India. Buyer plans to develop herbicides targeting specific weeds in key crops like paddy, wheat, sugarcane, and maize. Buyer has already registered one biostimulant product in India and plans to introduce more, particularly targeting the horticulture sector.
