APMC Observe One Day Strike
The Agricultural produce market committees in the states like Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh which grow more amounts of pulses in their area, observed one day strike on Tuesday closing all trade.
APMC from Maharashtra decided to go on a strike on Tuesday to protest the stock limit imposed on pulses traders by the government. Traders have claimed that the prices of pulses are still ruling around minimum support levels while the new scheme allows the government to interfere in trade only during extraordinary situations.
The members of APMC have written a letter to the Prime Minister in which it was stated that: Traders are afraid and did not participate in trade. Most of the pulses are selling about 10% below the MSP.
