Hon’ble Dy CM Shri Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo flagged off the Mobile Migration Resource Centre van. It focuses on addressing climate change-induced migration in vulnerable communities, specifically in the coastal areas of Odisha and drought-prone regions of Telangana in India. The program aims to enhance the resilience of migrant and vulnerable households by promoting climate-resilient agricultural practices and supporting climate-resilient agribusinesses.
The three-year project is supported by the Migration Multi-Partner Trust Fund (MPTF) and will be implemented in the two states of Odisha and Telangana at the intersection of migration, agriculture, and climate change. MPTF is the only UN financing mechanism fully dedicated to supporting joint initiatives of Member States, the UN system and other stakeholders in the national implementation of the Global Compact on Migration (GCM).
