Shared Spaces : Creating Bird-Friendly Cities and Communities

This year’s World Migratory Bird Day campaign will highlight the need for a healthy coexistence between humans and birds. It will focus on creating and adapting environments that support migratory bird populations across all communities, from bustling cities to smaller towns and communities. The 2025 theme encourages action from all sectors, including national and local governments, businesses, community groups, and individuals worldwide.

As the seasons change, millions of migratory birds are taking off on their incredible journeys across plains, seas, mountains, crossing multiple international borders along the way. This natural event brings us together to celebrate the second peak date of World Migratory Bird Day, on Saturday, 11th of October. The importance of designing and managing urban environments that support both birds and people is the message of this year’s World Migratory Bird Day.
