A farmer from Shankarapura in Udupi is reportedly earning an impressive Rs 3 lakh per kg of mangoes. Joseph Lobo successfully grew prized Miyazaki mangoes in Udupi, valued for taste and medicinal benefits. Lobo, a landscape farming expert, faced challenges and diversified his terrace garden with exotic fruits and diverse plant species.
The grower is Joseph Lobo, an innovative agriculturist specialising in landscaping and rejuvenating farms. He told “Miyazaki mango, a sought-after Japanese variety, has been cultivated by several farmers in India. Its high market value is not only due to taste but also because of its medicinal benefits.”
