PM-KISAN – The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) Scheme is being implemented with a view to provide income support to all landholding Farmers’ families across the country to enable them to take care of expenses related to agriculture and allied activities as well as domestic needs. The Scheme, effective from 1.12.2018, aims to provide a payment of Rs.6000/- per year for the farmers’ families with cultivable land holding, subject to certain exclusions. The financial benefit of Rs.6000/- is being released by the Central Government in three 4-monthly installments of Rs.2000/- over the year directly into the bank accounts of the eligible farmers under Direct Benefit Transfer mode.
MIDH – Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH) is a Centrally Sponsored Scheme is being implemented with effect from 2014-15 for holistic growth of the horticulture sector covering fruits, vegetables, root & tuber crops, mushrooms, spices, flowers, aromatic plants, coconut, cashew, cocoa and bamboo. The initiative of MIDH has not only resulted in India’s self-sufficiency in the horticulture sector but also contributed towards achieving sustainable development goals of zero hunger, good health and wellbeing, no poverty, gender equality etc. Under this scheme, Government of India (GOI) contributes 60%, of total outlay for developmental programmes in all the states except states in North East and Himalayas, 40% share is contributed by State Governments. In the case of North Eastern States and Himalayan States, GOI contributes 90%.
PM kishan credit card – The Kisan Credit Card scheme aims at providing adequate and timely credit support from the banking system under a single window with flexible and simplified procedure to the farmers for their cultivation and other needs like Post-harvest expenses; Produce marketing loan. This scheme was introduced in 1998 for issue of Kisan Credit Cards to farmers on the basis of their holdings for uniform adoption by the banks so that farmers may use them to readily purchase agriculture inputs such as seeds, fertilizers, pesticides etc. and draw cash for their production needs. Banks will not seek security on loans up to Rs. 1.60 lakh. The repayment period is decided on the basis of harvesting of crop and its marketing period. Maximum loan up to Rs. 3.00 lakh can be taken by the card holder between five years.
PMFBY – Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) is an insurance service for farmers for their yields. The scheme provides financial support to farmers suffering crop loss or damage due to unforeseen circumstances. It also encourages farmers to adopt modern and innovative agricultural practices. It was launched on 18 February 2016, aims to reduce the premium burden on farmers and ensure early settlement of crop assurance claim for the full insured sum. The Maximum Premium payable by the farmers will be 2% for all Kharif Food & Oilseeds crops, 1.5% for Rabi Food & Oilseeds crops and 5% for Annual Commercial/Horticultural Crops. The difference between premium and the rate of Insurance charges payable by farmers shall be shared equally by the Centre and State. Three levels of Indemnity, viz., 70%, 80% and 90% corresponding to crop. Risk in the areas shall be available for all crops.

PMKSY- Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY) is launched by the Indian Government recently for agriculture & irrigation. It is launched on 1st July 2015. PMKSY is implemented to expand the cultivated area for irrigation. Its main logo is ‘Har Khet Ko Pani’. And constituted under the chairmanship of vice- chairman, NITI Aayog. The broad objectives of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Sinchai Yojana are to include irrigation at the field level ‘more crop per drop’. The Government of India has launched the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Sinchai Yojana aimed to the development of irrigation sources for providing a permanent solution from drought. PMKSY promotes extension activities relating to water harvesting, water management and crop alignment for farmers and grass root level field functionaries with an outlay of Rs.50,000 crores for a period of 5 years (2015-16 to 2019-20) is to achieve convergence of investments in irrigation at the field level.
PM Kishan Sampad Yojana– The Central Sector Scheme – SAMPADA (Scheme for Agro-Marine Processing and Development of Agro-Processing Clusters) was approved by the cabinet in May 2017 for the period of 2016-20 coterminous with the 14th Finance Commission cycle. The scheme has now been renamed as the “Pradhan Mantri Kisan Sampada Yojana (PMKSY)”. The continuation of the Central Sector Scheme – Pradhan Mantri Kisan SAMPADA Yojana (Scheme for Agro- Marine Processing and Development of Agro-Processing Clusters) with an allocation of Rs. 4600 crore is approved till 31.03.2026. The objective of PMKSY is to supplement agriculture, modernize processing and decrease Agri-Waste. PM Kisan SAMPADA Yojana is expected to leverage investment of Rs. 11,095.93 crore, benefiting 28,49,945 farmers and generating 5,44,432 direct/indirect employment in the country by the year 2025-26.
Soil health card– The soil health is vital to boosting agricultural production. The day Soil Health Card Scheme was launched on February 19, 2015. The Government has spent more than Rs.700 crores on the SHC scheme since its launch. The objectives of the Soil Health Card (SHC) scheme are to issue soil health cards to farmers every two years so as to provide a basis to address nutritional deficiencies in fertilization practices. Soil testing is developed to promote soil test based on nutrient management. Soil testing reduces cultivation cost by application of right quantity of fertilizer. It ensures additional income to farmers by increase in yields and it also promotes sustainable farming. A farmer will get the soil health card once every 3 years.
e-Nam – National Agriculture Market or e-NAM is an online trading platform to sell various agricultural commodities in the country. It is a pan-India electronic trading portal launched on 14th April, 2016 completely funded by Central Government and implemented by Small Farmers Agribusiness Consortium (SFAC). The market facilitates farmers, traders & buyers with online trading in commodities. It also helps farmers get better price and provide facilities for smooth marketing of their produce. To integrate markets first at the level of the States and eventually across the country through a common online market platform, to facilitate pan -India trade in agricultural commodities. Notably, trading activities worth ₹2.50 lakh crore have been conducted on the e-NAM platform. As of March 16, 2023, the e-NAM platform has successfully integrated 1,361 mandis from 23 States and 4 Union Territories.
PM KMDY– Pradhan Mantri Kisan Maan-Dhan Yojana Scheme in India is a central sector scheme for farmers aged between 18 to 40 years. It lunched on 12th September 2019. The beneficiary can become a member of the PM-KMY Scheme by registering under the Pension Fund managed by the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC). The members are thus required to make a monthly contribution to the Pension Fund between Rs.55/- to Rs.200/-, depending on their age with the provision of equal contribution by the Central Government. According to the reports of 14th November 2019, a total of 18,29,469 farmers in India have been registered under this scheme. This scheme is applicable to all the small and marginal farmers. The ratio of the contribution that must be made by them and the Union Government under this Yojana is 1:1. Government contribution under the PM-KMY Scheme is equal to the monthly contribution made by the farmer. In the event of death of the worker/farmer, the spouse receives 50% of the amount as pension.
Mukhyamantri Krishi Udyog Yojana – Mukhyamantri Krishi Udyog Yojana (MKUY) was launched on May 2018, The key objective of this scheme is to increase the income of the farmer by creating new employment opportunities in agro-industries. 50.00 lakh. o Subsidy upper limit of Rs. 50.00 lakhs under MKUY is for one entrepreneur / family as a whole.
Mukhyamantri Abhinav Krishi Yantrapati Samman Yojana – The scheme was launched on May 2018. Under this scheme, the Government rewards 101 farmers with the inclusion of 11 farmers at the State level and 90 farmers at the district level, every year with a cash reward for their innovative tools that are used for farming. financial assistance of Rs. 20,000 per month will be given to all the registered farmers that are mentioned under the Startup Odisha Initiative. In addition to this, if a farmer desires to further improvise their innovative tools and implements it, then the government can provide assistance to them up to Rs. 15 lakh. At the state level, three first prizes each carrying a cash reward of Rs. 2 lakh, three-second prises of Rs. 1.5 lakh each and five third prizes of Rs. 1 lakh each would be awarded. In the district level, 90 farmers would be awarded a cash prize of Rs. 15,000 each for their innovative work.
