Delegation of Maharashtra Chief Minister’s Office Visited Odisha To Study The Shree Anna Abhiyan

A delegation from the Maharashtra Chief Minister’s office visited Odisha to study the Shree Anna Abhiyan, examining aspects ranging from millet cultivation and cuisine to the state’s policies for reviving this forgotten grain. Impressed by Odisha’s holistic model, the team attended a meeting at Krushi Bhavan chaired by the Additional Chief Secretary. Detailed discussions focused on millet inclusion in ICDS, hostels, MDM, and PDS. The delegation also explored Odisha’s rich millet diversity through interactive exhibits and food stalls.
Odisha integrates millets from farm to plate, involving farmers, women’s Self-Help Groups (SHGs), and research. Increased productivity and profitability through improved farming techniques and support, with Minimum Support Price (MSP) for procurement. Maharashtra’s visit signifies a growing national interest in Odisha’s innovative millet revival program, aiming to replicate its success in combating malnutrition and promoting sustainable agriculture.
