Paramparika Khadya Dibas : Our Taste, Our Food

Paramparika Khadya Dibas is a day dedicated to highlighting the importance of traditional food cultures and promoting the consumption of local and sustainable foods. On Paramparika Khadya Dibas, the Forgotten Food team under SPPIF launched induction programs to train urban cafes. Five traditional recipes and a value-added product were introduced into the cafe menu at BSABT Bus Stand, Bhubaneswar. The Integrated Farming Programme hosted an event on Paramparika Khadya Dibas on April 15, 2025, with the theme “Our Taste, Our Food,” focusing on documenting neglected crops and traditional food culture.

While “Paramparika Khadya Divas” is not a universally recognized day, it’s a concept that aligns with the broader global awareness and efforts towards preserving traditional food systems and promoting sustainable agriculture. Paramparika Food Day can be an educational opportunity for younger students to learn about healthy eating and the significance of traditional foods in their cultural heritage.
