Shree Anna Abhiyan is a flagship programme of Department of Agriculture and Farmers Empowerment, Government of Odisha. Special Programme for Promotion of Millets in Tribal Areas of Odisha (Shree Anna Abhiyan) was launched by Govt of Odisha in 2017 to revive millets in farms and on plates. It emerged from a consultation between Government, Academia (NCDS) and Civil Society Organisations (RRA Network, ASHA Network and local NGOs).
Shree Anna Abhiyan, under the Department of Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment, in collaboration with the National Health Mission (NHM), Health & Family Welfare Department, is conducting awareness sessions on the health benefits of Shree Anna (Millets) through ASHA workers at the block and district levels. As part of this initiative, a booklet titled “Health Benefits of Millets” has been developed to guide ASHA workers in spreading awareness about the benefits of Shree Anna, aiming to educate people at the grassroots level.
